The Meaning of Style

Though this may not be your typical summer outfit, our model puts her own spin on summer with a retro black Star Wars Tee and a long black bag (which you can get for yourself!). The burgundy beret worn far back on the head adds to the hint of summer, especially in SF, LA, or anywhere with June gloom or summer rain.

The satiny PJ pants with the frayed hem, and the studded boots elevate the outfit and give it a sophisticated edginess, making it perfect for a night out on the town – drinks with the ladies, dancing at the hottest clubs, dinner with your friends, or a beach bonfire. The make-up complements the outfit well – artful and subtle, yet strong black eyeliner and burgundy lipstick. If this look is not quite for you, here’s how you might change it up to make it your own:

1) Change the top – Swap out the novelty Tee for a sleek and sophisticated solid color bodysuit (like this one at Nordstrom). It transforms the look from cute to ultra-chic. You could also try a solid, fitted tee.

2) Add a motorcycle jacket (Nordstrom has a great one) – it will go great with those studded boots, create a strong statement, and give you some warmth should the night get chilly.

3) Spice it up with some stand-out pieces of jewelry - a thick silver chain, or silver earrings… or even a silver ring. These pieces add power, style, and substance, and tie your look together.

4) Add a braided leather cuff (like this one!) – It has just the right balance of soft and hard, keeping them guessing about which way you’ll go. Also, it matches those awesome boots. The meaning of style is what you make it. Whether you embrace the latest fashion trends, put your own spin on style, or think you haven’t got a fashion bone in your body, you can own any look and make it your own. We’re here to help you do it!
